Why am I going to ride a bike with Josef Zimovčak? Because it is not an autotelic cycling. Because we really want to help those ones, who need it. But who needs help from us? In the first place always the people, who cannot help themselves, preferentially children, and if children, then particularly sick ones and if sick ones then those, who are seriously sick. I can see neither from the rational nor from emotional point of view another category, which needs help so urgently. That is why I will participate in this sponsor´s project. When I have seen Josef Zimovčák for the first time on the Tour de France 2005 and how he was conquering the famous saddle Galibier, it was clear to me, that a special person stood in front of me. Joe confirms this, not just on the Tour, Giro and La Vuelta, but he shows it by his involvement in the project „Cycling for children“. I admire him very much for all that and I am glad I can participate in this charitable project and support it as well .

The peloton of cyclists will start on 8th June 2011 for those, who have accepted the challenge and decided to join actively in the project „Cycling for children“. The idea of this international charitable project is to appeal to the public and find sponsors to provide for recovery and convalescence stays, which will help children after hard treatment. Stages will go across the beautiful Czech and Slovak countryside. I think, that it will not be an easy way - after all 11 stages about the lenght of1635 kilometres are planned. However there are much more difficult ways, which open unexpectedly in front of some children and their families, when an insidious disease appears. Long ways, unknown ahead, which are very crooked and pass through the countryside, which is not beautiful. And the aims are so far and so uncertain. Such a stage of life changes lots of things. After all has been overcome successfully, it is necessary to start again and go on. |

Why are we trying to help? Nobody ever knows, when he will need help from somebody else and therefore nobody should turn his back to problems of others. We try to help by organizing blood donation in M3M Studiu Plzeň. I have a gold plague myself - the Jansky gold plaque and Vlaďka comes near to it too. I used to work at an air rescue as a technician and when I saw the photos from the accidents, I realized how fragile a human body is. The worst sights are of the injured and children with cancer. Unlike adults children mostly cannot control their problems. We try to help in a way, which is possible and every crown for the support of the project CYCLING FOR CHILDREN is a well paid-in capital. After all, we have only one health. We would like bigger companies in Plzeň to join next year and we got a promise from the Assistant of the Plzeň City Mayor Mr. Zrzavecký, that Plzeň as a city would join us. We are glad that the peloton will cross Plzeň next year. |
